JERUSALEM- THE CENTER OF THE WORLD
© Mappa Mundi 1996
A prized treasure of the beautiful medieval cathedral in
Hereford, England
is an ancient map of the known world made about circa 1300.
This 'Mappa Mundi' shows the British Isles on the left, Europe in the
top half of the circle, Africa in the lower left, and the Middle East
and
Arabia on the right.
At the very center of the map is Jerusalem!
The unknown mapmaker certainly had his theology and understanding
of the Bible correct; perhaps more than many in the church today.
The holy city of Jerusalem is the focal point of world history
and will be the focus of end-time events.
Visitors to Hereford can view the map in its own museum
on the grounds of the cathedral.
